Ready to turn your fire spinning into fire dancing? Explore your inner flow in this dynamic Poi Workshop led by Mark O'Dea, a local fire-dancer with 10+ years of experience.
Join us for a beginner-friendly, 1-hour workshop where you'll learn the fundamentals of poi, one of the most visually captivating props in both the fire dance and flow arts communities. All flow arts advocates and aspirants are welcome! You'll learn how to spin, move, and create patterns that blend coordination, rhythm, and self-expression.
What to Expect:
-Safety First: Essential safety protocols and safety expectations. (No fire involved!)
-Fundamental Movement: Learn core poi movements and theory with an introduction to basic spinning patterns
-Musicality & Flow: We'll begin the long journey of exploring how to connect your movements to the music, making your spinning more like dancing.
The goal is to get you comfortable and confident in a supportive environment. Whether you're curious about flow arts, looking for a fun new way to move, or hoping to one day spin fire like a pro, these workshops are the perfect place to start.
Please note: This clinic does not involve the use of real fire. All instruction will involve dry practice poi, ideal for safe learning and skill-building. Please bring your own poi.

Have you ever been entranced by the beauty of a fan dance? Wished you had the skills to take the stage with those glorious feathers flirting against your skin? Been interested in trying burlesque but a little cautious of bearing it all? Then this is the workshop for you!
Learn the classic, elegant and cheeky art of burlesque dancing with feather fans in my feather kisses workshop. In this intro workshop you will learn how to hold your fans, a few basic fan techniques and poses, and the concept of a fan dance tease. At the end we'll put a few moves together to music so you have something to practice at home.
This class is open to all genders, all body types, those who are new to burlesque, those who are new to fan dancing but not burlesque, and who are 18+ years of age.
PLEASE NOTE fans are not included in the price of this workshop. Fans will NOT be provided by the instructor. You may bring your own fans if you already own a pair or purchase a pair on your own online.
